Your boutique

Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella was born as a Dominican friars’ convent in Florence, Italy in 1221. Since then, we select nature’s finest ingredients to give life to authentic, beauty-seeking routines for the home and the body.
Come to any of our stores or shop online our newest Eau de Parfums, Eau de Colognes, soaps, candles and skincare and bath products. The historical location, of Via Della Scala 16, Florence and also the very first operational site for the Maison, it is today a boutique museum where history brings alive the magic with care, savoir-faire, elegance and we are committed to preserve, and evolve, a heritage like no other.

While I was trying out the scents, a female staff member with a bob haircut approached me and asked me a barrage of questions: "Do you know about our store?", "How did you hear about us?", "Have you been to any other stores?", and "What made you start?" Even though I hadn't asked her, she continued to explain things that were on their website, such as "It originated in an Italian pharmacy" and "These are their iconic scents," which prevented me from trying out the scents at my leisure and was very unpleasant. If the store's policy requires it to survey customers, I think they should reconsider how they communicate with them.

I've never understood the customer service at stores like this. In these stores, the staff seems to suffocate customers by forcing information they probably never asked for onto them. The moment I walked into this store, I felt a pressure and disgust in my chest, just from seeing the staff approach me. "Have you ever considered that maybe I don't want to talk?" Or do you think I'm so stupid I can't even read the label myself? They're just selling perfume; there's no need for such an exaggerated attitude and overreaction. It's truly nauseating, and makes me want to run away. There are plenty of people like me who aren't interested in speaking and just want to look around. If necessary, we'll ask questions ourselves. Are the products here really that weak? Do they need to be forced on customers to sell? What kind of store is this? Why can't they just leave customers alone? I don't want to talk to anyone. Some people don't want to talk, and some people aren't good at communication. Being ignored like that feels like harassment.
